eGHL, and Visa are bringing together Visa Token Service (VTS) to provide merchants a seamless and secure eCommerce solution upon checkout for their consumers. Together with Visa, eGHL will help make digital transactions more secure by tokenising both one-time and recurring payments made with Visa credentials.

Tokenisation replaces a cardholder’s 16-digit Visa account number with a token that only Visa can unlock, protecting the underlying card details from fraudsters. This provides consumers with a convenient payment experience when they shop online or make in-app transactions. This marks a major milestone in eGHL’s journey to lead a seamless and secure payment experience.

Security is a key focus for consumers making purchases online, particularly when they choose to store their card details online or in-app. Visa Token Service masks sensitive card information with a digital token that is unique between the customer and merchant. It is also used to validate and authorise purchase transactions. For each transaction, a one-time cryptogram is sent to ensure tokens are not replicated and used fraudulently. The token cannot be used by any other individual or merchant.
